New Journey in Canada! Leathercraft Workshop Farewelling Hong Kong.

A new journey to Canada. Our hearts are filled with complicated feelings. After 4 years of building our leather craft workshop from the ground up, leaving Hong Kong is bittersweet. It’s a city that we both spent 30 years living in, grew up here, met here, fell in love here, and experienced here. While we decided to explore Canada, the beautiful country, we will deeply miss the connections we’ve made and all the valuable moments we’ve shared in this crowded town.

The Wrapping Up of 4 Years of Business in Hong Kong

Teaching Our Friends : The 1st Step

Just like many other start-up crafting workshops, our friends were the first to support our businesses. In the middle of 2020, we organized a workshop in a group of 8 only for our friends in a clubhouse. We were nervous and fresh on teaching. Neither of us had any group teaching experience. Luckily, our friends could understand our instructions and completed their cardholders.

Renting Our First Studio : Running the Business

At the start of 2021, we rented a spacious sharing studio with five other artists. It had a small but cozy corner that we claimed as our own. We set up our Instagram page and launched our website. Instead of calling it a side hustle, we prefer to refer to it as our private creative space where we can craft together on weekends.

Our First Customer : A Milestone Moment

We will never forget the excitement we felt when we received our first customer order from our web store. One night, an email notification popped up, saying, “Nice! You just got an order.” Initially, we were both shocked, but later, we realized what had just happened. After weeks of hard work on our Instagram and web store, we finally achieved our first milestone by selling the 1st Simply Cardholder.

Moving to Our Second Studio : Expansion and Growth

As we began receiving individual customer inquiries on Instagram regarding leather craft workshops, we reorganized our table layout and invited customers to visit our workshop and learn the art of crafting their own cardholders and wallets for their partners. However, our two-table space within the shared studio couldn’t accommodate the growing number of customers.

Thank You for All Your Support in the Past 4 Years. See you later.

We genuinely appreciate all the customers’ support in the past, particularly the couples who came in pairs. The love stories you shared with us are incredibly valuable. We hope all your stories continue to be shared and cherished forever.

As relocation takes time, we will be in touch as soon as we have completed handling all the necessary work. We look forward to seeing you all in Canada soon.
